Earth Update
Earth Update is an interactive, real-time display system of Earth images and data designed for museums and schools and available to the general public as a "museum in a case". It displays hundreds of the best Earth images and movies, all documented, with web links to learn more. Roughly 20% of the material is updating (weather maps, snow cover, earthquake activity, etc). By installing the software, you can see "today's data" by downloading the latest images free from the internet with a single click. Each module can be run separately, resulting in 6 different kiosks if desired.
This powerful software suite is available for purchase as a DVD which includes both Mac and Windows versions. Full-screen versions without support files, are available for download but require a registration number after a 30-day demo period.

Learn about biomes and the wide diversity of plant and animal life on Earth, track fires, deforestation, and vegetation
Cryosphere
Featuring topics about polar sea ice, recent ice ages, and seasonal snow coverage
Geosphere
Topics include plate tectonics, seismology; daily updates include earthquake maps and volcano maps
Hydrosphere
Investigate ocean currents and El Niño, daily data on ocean temperature and wave height
Atmosphere
The sphere modules of Earth Update operate like a digital reference guide to that particular realm of the Earth's environment. Each application includes 4 general information guides to the sphere ("What", "Why", "Who", "How"), and organizes specific topics under the headings of "What's Hot" (recent), "Sphere Topics" (general), and "Latest Images" (updating). Users can explore these areas to discover images and movies that will teach them about Earth science.
The "Latest Images" can be updated with today's data by downloading the most recent version of an image or movie from the internet without ever leaving the software. The entire application can also be updated all at once using the "Update Sphere" feature.
Atmosphere runs as part of Earth Update or as a stand-alone application. A full-screen version is available to download but requires a purchased registration number after the 30-day demo period.
